Give Me 10 Bucks, I’ll Give You a Water Table and a Week of Crafting

Holler! It’s a Dollar!

My older two kids are home for Spring Break this week and I know I better have a plan or plan on total chaos! In addition to parks and libraries, crafting is on the list!

I love ready made crafting kits. No need to buy all the separate supplies or spend hours looking up craft instructions online, it’s ready to go. I bought everything above for $10 from The Dollar Tree Store.

Dollar Store Tip: Look on the highest shelves for what they consider “odd items” that’s where I found the crafting kits and the Bug Kit!

From Left to Right:

  • Paper Plate Craft Kit Makes 3
  • Sidewalk Chalk
  • Flowers Yarn by Number Craft Kit
  • Fish Yarn by Number Craft Kit
  • 3 Pack of Glue Sticks
  • 10 Colored Pencils
  • 2 Bug Kits
  • 36 pages Construction Paper Pad
  • 3 pack of Bubbles

Like a Table for Water

Vacation means one thing, a lot of fun in the sun! If you have kids, they love water, right? My kids would play in water all day, night and sleep in it if you let them. Besides being over my budget, I was never convinced that buying a ‘Water Table’ was essential to water play.

Kids have a wild, fabulous imagination. If they want to play it, they will find a way.

My son came up with the idea of repurposing our Infant Bathtub into a water table. We added some of their character toys and our thermos dispenser for a make shift water feature. The bathtub has a cool color, look and shape. It works great, and most of all no money spent out of pocket!

Check freecycle.org and cragislist for infant bathtubs, I constantly see them being given away.

Any cool finds at the Dollar Store we should check out? Have you repurposed anything to a great kids’ toy?
