OH YES ! 15 MINUTES!
I love carbs. Ok, let’s say that nicer..I enjoy good bread. Last Summer we bought a bread machine, and haven’t regretted it one time. The fragrance of hand crafted, sweet smelling goodness is what makes a house a home. While the bread machine works magic, it takes time. A lot of time, near 5 hours from start to finish.
I was making chicken and had no carbs planned. A side of pasta or rice, just won’t do. I wanted fresh baked bread and I wanted it now!

IT’S ALL GOOD
This recipe is very forgiving. Use what you have; it all works! I added some fresh Italian parsley. Great way to use extra herbs before they go bad!

PLAY, DOUGH
I’ll hold your hand. I know dough is the one scary part of baking. It still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. But, it doesn’t have to be. Flour is your friend. Too sticky? Add flour. Period. It should be soft, kind of like play dough!

MERRY MASON
No cookie cutters here! I just used the other side of a mason jar, because I have so many. They worked great and even added that artisan touch. (Did I just say ‘artisan?’)

BUTTAH IS BETTAH
With all my biscuits in a row, I added a quick brush of melted butter (or two). There is NO butter in the dough except this lovely glaze on top.

SNACK SIZE
Your family will be amazed at your skills, or at least mine were. My husband asked if I used the bread machine to knead the dough…not sure if I should be happy or offended..I’ll go with awesome!
You can make homemade biscuits. Forget the rules and try this recipe, it is so simple. The way good food should be.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup Italian parsley, chopped (or any herb you like)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (shredded, grated, whatever you have)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4-1 1/2 cup whipping cream (depends which type of cheese you use)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Mix flour, parsley, cheese, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Add 3/4 cup cream slowly, stir until ingredients are moist. Add extra cream 1 tablespoon at a time until you can make a soft dough.
- Sprinkle dough on surface and turn dough in it to coat lightly. Knead about 10 times or until it's smooth. Press dough into 1/2-inch-thickness to cut out.
- Use mason jar or knife and cut into circles or squares.
- Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Brush with melted butter.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes depending on oven strength. (Mine were done at 7!)
