I’m a MOMables Blogger! Join the #LunchRevolution

The best things in life happen…naturally.

I am so honored and excited to join the MOMables team!

Have you heard of MOMables? It’s a school lunch subscription service started by mom and blogger Laura Fuentes. It was her dream and vision to give her young children: healthy, whole food lunches. She wasn’t convinced that it would cost a lot or take a lot of time to prepare.

Boy, was she right!

I have been a fan and *paying* customer of  MOMables for almost as long as the company has been open. And I’m not the only one!

Thousands of us had a wake up call after watching  Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution TV program. The difference is Laura did something about it!

How does MOMables work?

  1. Sign up for a subscription service.
  2. Every week a new shopping list with menu is in your account ready to download.
  3. Exact instructions, with pictures, helps you to make delicious (I eat them too!) school lunch for your kids.

I’ll be a contributing blogger on MOMables, and if you are a subscriber, you might see my recipes ( linked to my site)  featured in your account when you check your weekly menu!

I have updated my sidebar to include a whole section called ‘Lunch Revolution’ . It is something I am passionate about. I started my blog, similar to how Laura started MOMables, I was fed up with my kids eating habits.

Good, nutrient-rich foods does not have to be expensive or taste like cardboard!

Each lunch comes out to no more than $2-$3. And knowing my kids are fueled properly to help their minds and bodies work at their optimum gives me such peace.

This is a MOMables lunch from this week’s menu. Everything, except the container, is from Trader Joe’s.
  • Whole wheat slider sandwich, with leftover chicken.
  • Strawberries
  • Cucumbers
  • Veggie Stick Chips
  • Maple Leaf Cookie

My new favorite.

They are the perfect size for little hands and super slim. They come 8 in a pack at $2.49, which comes out to $.31/sandwich!

I’m thinking the whole lunch above cost me around $2.50.

Wondering how I pack them so easily?

My go-to lunch system are EasyLunchBoxes. And this is not my whole stash!  But please don’t blame me that they’re sold out on Amazon right now! I have it on good authority they will be back in stock later this month. ;)

Yes, they are dishwasher safe and because you can nest them inside each other, they leave a small footprint in your already small cabinet.

So, that’s my fun news! Laura is on a Lunch Revolution, let’s join her!

Have you heard of MOMables? How do you pack your kids’ lunches?

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I’m just a mom who wants to feed my kids wholesome good food on a budget!

  1. What a great service, especially with so many of our kids having weight problems.

  2. I have those easy lunchboxes too, but I only have four. I think it's great that you're connected officially to something you were already supporting on your own!

  3. Isra – Today is my birthday and this post is just the best gift ever. Thank you for your enthusiasm for my EasyLunchboxes and your fabulous pics!!!! LOVE!!!

  4. How cool! Sounds like a great fit for you and your blog, too!

I have heard about Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and was thrilled to see that you are part of MOMables. Your recipes are completely worthy and I always learn so much from you when I stop by! BTW… we do not have a Trader Joe's but I have a heard a rumor that one is on the way! :)

  7. My daughter started middle school this year, and wanted to eat school lunches, so I put 20 dollars on her lunch account and let her try it. I was shocked when I checked the lunch account wwebsite and found she had bought Pop Tarts for lunch! Pop Tarts! Then she proceeded to tell me how they serve Oreo cookies, chips, cans of soda! I am appalled! This is not good, who should I speak to about this? The school board or should I turn to our state representative? Needless to say, I informed her that I could see everything she buys and that once the 20 bucks was used up, that's it! Yes, she is old enough to know that those foods are not good for her, but the temptation shouldn't even be there! They're kids!
