My Bad Driving and Your Car Insurance Savings #TrySnapshot

snapshot review

I learned how to drive on a California freeway.

If you can merge on to the 5 Freeway, at rush hour, and catch the carpool lane without fainting, you can drive anywhere. It tests your patience, your car and most of all, your driving skills.

Never trust a California freeway to stay at an even 55 m.p.h. I bet the term ‘defensive driving’ came from Los Angeles!

California driving prepared me for something worse, much worse, Boston drivers. Boston drivers have a reputation to be some of the worst in the country. After living here four years, I blame the roads, not the drivers. One way streets, roundabouts, parallel parking 2 miles deep are all standard living in a city.

She emailed me. Kind of.

Progressive asked if I would take the snapshot challenge to see how much I could save on my car insurance. They had me at ‘save.’ If you ever want me to do anything, just tell me how much it ‘saves,’ and I’m game!

It’s free, almost! Anyone can request this snapshot gadget to test if they can save on their car insurance. You get it FREE for 30 days, it goes in a slot right under your steering wheel. Once you see little blue lights flashing, you know it’s working and ready to go!

I just finished my 30 day trial. It was nerve wracking. I really wanted to save!

Alas, it was not meant to be. Between pot holes, u-turns and aggressive stops, I was doomed. Good ‘ol Flo didn’t find any additional savings I would be eligible for.

But, I’m happy. I’m confident I’m getting the lowest insurance I can get, and if anything, this just proved it!

After the 30 days are up, Progressive will give you a shipping label to mail the Snapshot gadget back to them.
(Snapshot of your driving, get it. I apologize for my 4th grade humor).

How is your driving? Try Snapshot for 30 days, it’s FREE anyways, might as well make sure you are getting the most savings possible!

  1. Do California freeways even have speed limits as low as 55mph? I think they start at 60 or 65!

One thing I'll give Boston drivers: they tend to slow down in bad weather. Not the case in CA, in my experience at least! :)

    • You know when I was growing up the speed limit was 55! Shows how old I am! You're right the speed limit is 65, probably changed at least 10 years ago. And oh driving in the rain in CA is..scary!!

CA drivers scares me to death. LOL Rain sleet or snow they still drive fast. Sounds like that is a pretty cool tool…I've seen it advertise on TV so many times. Great post!

I completely agree. Even if you are on hands-free you are still not concentrating 100% on your driving.

LOL… CA drivers do scare me but Dallas is not much better. Boo on no additional savings… but YAY for the giggle. :)
