Winter in a jar.
Cranberries are everywhere! When life gives you any abundance of fruit (on sale) what do you do? Make jam!
This is so easy and so crazy good you will be eating it straight out of the jar. Spoon optional.
Cranberries are not just for Thanksgiving. If you love tart with light sweet notes you must try this.
We’ve eaten this on toast, on bagels with a little cream cheese and yes, a lot straight out of the jar. If you are scared of full canning, just put it in any jar or bowl and pop it in the refrigerator.
The amount is small enough to make one jar at a time.
You want dump and dash? This is it! Happy eating!
Ingredients
- 1 12 oz.bag of fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup of orange juice
- 1/2 cup of water

Do you like cranberries? Have you ever made jam before?

Hi! I'm Isra, aka The Frugalette. I took my family from fancy to frugal in 3 years, with 3 kids and 1 income, oh and found the meaning of life too! To read more about my fancy life gone frugal,

I adore cranberries, absolutely adore them! I am SO making this!!!!
Liz, you can't believe how easy it is and so delish!
This sounds really good! And it reminds me of the cranberry sauce my sister makes – she puts cranberries, and an orange (I think the entire orange – there are definitely some peels in there) and a bunch of sugar in a blender. SO good!
I love the idea of adding some of the orange rind..I do that with lime rind for a mango/lime jam I made. The rind is a natural pectin and will help to set the jam! http://www.thefrugalette.com/2012/05/make-mango-j…
We make a cranberry pinot noir jam for our artisan line, and it's pretty tasty. I LOVE using cranberry jam/jelly outside of Thanksgiving. It's delicious on everything! And it sets SO easily, you don't have to worry about it being runny!
OMG that looks sooooo yummy!
It tastes yummy too!
I was surprised how easily it sets!
How long is the jam good for in the refrigerator?
It should be good for at up to 4 weeks. Although ours didn’t last longer than 2 weeks since we all ate it.
I have a cranberry jello salad of my grandma’s I like to make for holidays. I have never had cranberries as a spread. Sweet?? Any other fruits you’d suggest?
It’s a little sweet and sour actually, not sugary sweet. You know, I think any fruit can be made into a jam. I also made this mango/lime marmalade, so good! http://www.thefrugalette.com/2012/05/make-mango-jam-twist-lime/
